AWARD FOR LANDSCAPE GARDENING

The Malaga Company, Ciudad Verde, located in Benalmádena and dedicated to the design and creation of gardens, has gained an award in recognition of its project “Design and construction of a private house garden on the Cerrado de Calderón Urbanisation.” The garden was created during 2002, then later, having matured, was entered for the Ist. Andalusian Landscape Gardening Competition Joaquín Romero Murube 2005 and was rewarded with an Honourable Mention.

The garden, created by the landscape gardener Mábel Hidalgo is elaborate and on several levels, combining Mediterranean structural features such as gravel, steps made from railway sleepers, dry-stone walls and terracotta paving, together with Mediterranean and sub-tropical planting. It is an interesting combination of features, the colours, shapes and textures all in perfect harmony and with the tranquillity of a green lawn from where to contemplate the Mediterranean.

Ciudad Verde has been dedicated to landscape gardening throughout all the Málaga region, since 1994, designing, constructing and maintaining hotel gardens, community gardens and private gardens.. It is a small company with 17 employees, headed by Mábel Hidalgo, whose doctorate is in Biology and Landscape Gardening –“I was drawn toward this profession because I always wanted to combine science with artistic expression, and I feel that I have achieved this through landscape gardening”.

CIUDAD VERDE S.L.U Gardening and Environment HAS BEEN RECOGNISED AS AN EXEMPLARY COMPANY by Benlamádena’s Association of Trade and Commerce (LA ASOCIACION DE COMERCIANTES Y EMPRESARIOS DE (ACEB))

Awards of honour and distinction were made to members and associates of this Benalmádena and the Costa del Sol organization on the15th of June, at the annual dinner of the ACEB. It took place at the Fortuna Hotel at Torrequebrada

The event brought together numerous provincial authorities, among them the Representative for Commerce, Tourism and Sport, D. José Cosme Marín, the President of the Association of Commerce, Industry and Navigation, D.Jerónimo Pérez Casero, the President of the Business Confederation of Málaga, D. Vicente García Martín, and from the Federation of Commerce; D. Enrique Gil, the Mayor of Benalmádena, D. Enrique Bolín and members of his Municipal Council as well as people from the Association of Commerce and other Costa del Sol associations.

Four awards were made: for the best, Young Business, Innovative Project, Veteran Business and Exemplary Company. This last being awarded to Ciudad Verde, Gardening and Environment Company, which has been in Benalmádena since 1994.

The General assembly of the ACEB agreed, and it was a unanimous decision, to award the Golden Insignia and the 2006 Trophy to the businesswoman and director, Mábel Hidalgo Berutich, Doctor of Botanical Biology (Málaga University), whose Gardening Company employs 17 people and carries out quality gardening work projects on the Costa del Sol.

This Company of recognized Andalusian prestige having already achieved an Honourable Mention in the Joaquín Moreno Murube Competition (staged by the Andalusian Congress (la Junta de Andalucia) ) has now also gained International Organisation for Standardization’s certification for quality management (ISO9001:2000)) and for quality environmental management (ISO 14000:2004) , which means formal recognition by national and international standards of Ciudad Verde’s Quality and respect for the Environment.

CIUDAD VERDE: THE FIRST GARDENING COMPANY IN THE PROVINCE OF MALAGA TO HAVE CERTIFICATION FOR QUALITY MANAGEMENT AND QUALITY ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT.

The gardening and environment Company CIUDAD VERDE S.L.U has achieved certification by the International Standards Organisation for Quality Management (ISO 9001:2000) and Quality Environmental Management (ISO 14001:2004).

On the 9th of February the Mayor of Benalmádena, Enrique Bolín, presented certificates for Quality Management (ISO 9001:2000) and Quality Environmental Management (ISO 14001:2004) to the head of Ciudad Verde. Mábel Hidalgo Berutich. Also at the ceremony, which took place in the Town Hall, were the deputy Mayor José Nieto and the City Councillor for the environment, Sebastián Carretero.

Present on behalf of S.G.S. ICS IBERICA S.A., the accrediting organisation granting the awards of certification for quality management and quality environmental management, was their director for Andalusia, José Manuel Vera. The Association of Trade and Commerce of Benalmádena (La Asociación de Comerciantes y Empresarios de Benalmádena (ACEB)) was represented by their Vice President, Jésus Peinado.

Within the Province of Malaga, CIUDAD VERDE, located in Benalmádena, is the first landscape gardening business to obtain such certification. Now, after thirteen years of carrying out quality work and respecting the Environment CIUDAD VERDE has certification of its work policy as a guarantee of the services it offers.

The certificates of Quality Management (ISO 9001:2000) and Quality Environment Management (ISO14001:2004) de SGS are the seals of quality applicable to all departments of the business.
These standards implement a series of basic principals to manage the quality of all the different work processes: the initial design of the garden, its construction, and maintenance etc., right through to the end of each client’s job. With this certification, Ciudad Verde has formal national and international standards recognition of the quality of its service.

CIUDAD VERDE has been carrying out gardening services on the Costa del Sol since 1994. Thanks to the professional team work of all the staff it has succeeded in giving a dynamic, polished and personalised service to both clients and associates. Now, this certification, will add an extra dimension of efficiency to identification of client’s needs and requirements, and will bring a continuous improvement to service.
